Associate Professor Con Dolianitis
After obtaining one of the highest year 12 scores in his year, Assoc. Prof Con Dolianitis studied Medicine at the University of Melbourne. At the same time he completed a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in Greek and Classical Studies, obtaining honours for most of his university subjects.
Assoc. Prof Con Dolianitis works in the specialised biologics clinic and the general dermatology clinic at the Royal Melbourne Hospital. Con has previously consulted at the Skin Health Institute in Carlton in both the nail clinic and hair clinic, and the Royal Children’s Hospital.
Con has published multiple articles in peer reviewed journals and has been involved in research and clinical trials. He was awarded a research grant by the Scientific Research fund of the Australasian College of Dermatology for work in melanoma. Con’s research with the Victorian Melanoma Service focused on the use of dermoscopy for the early detection of melanoma. Con completed a Masters of Medicine researching the detection of melanomas using spectrophotometry. He has a particular interest in the early detection of melanomas and monitoring patients at risk of melanoma.
Con was the supervisor of Dermatology training at the Royal Melbourne Hospital. Con is involved in teaching and supervising dermatology trainees as well as medical students of the University of Melbourne. He has served as an examiner and on the selection committee of the Australasian College of Dermatology, as well as the committee of the Victorian Faculty of Dermatology. Con was the convenor of the Australasian College of Dermatology Meeting in Melbourne. He has also worked on the advisory board of multiple pharmaceutical companies and been a reviewer for several dermatology journals. Con was awarded the Presidential Citation in 2017 by the Australasian College of Dermatologists in recognition of his contribution to the College. Con is a current member of the Human Research Ethics Committee at the Royal Melbourne Hospital.
Con regularly attends local and international conferences to offer patients the latest treatment options. He has been attending the annual meeting of European Academy of Dermatology for the last 10 years. He was awarded the Paul Eddington travelling scholarship by the Skin Health Institute to attend one of the European meetings.
Con has a particular interest in the early detection and treatment of melanoma and other skin cancers, including the use of non-surgical approaches when appropriate. Con also has significant experience with managing psoriasis and eczema, including use of phototherapy treatment. He has been heavily involved in running the biological therapies clinic for the treatment of severe psoriasis at The Royal Melbourne Hospital. Additionally, Con has significant experience in the treatment of acne, hair disorders, nail disorders, men’s dermatological problems and general dermatologic conditions.

Associate Professor Amanda Saracino

Assoc. Prof Amanda Saracino is a Fellow of the Australasian College of Dermatologists and Associate Professor with University College London (UCL). She is also recognised as a consultant Dermatologist by the Royal College of Physicians and General Medical Council in the UK and is an international Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatologists. Amanda has extensive experience working in a variety of clinical and academic settings in both Melbourne and London, and now works in Melbourne in private practice and at Emeritus Research. Amanda provides expert care for all skin conditions such as acne, rosacea, eczema, psoriasis and skin cancer / mole checks. In addition, Assoc. Prof Saracino is an expert in complex medical, inflammatory and autoimmune skin conditions and a sub-specialist in Connective Tissue Diseases (such as Lupus and Scleroderma). She has a PhD from UCL in the aetiopathogenesis of Scleroderma.
After finishing Dux of Monash medical school in 2007, Amanda completed her specialty Dermatology training with the Australasian College of Dermatologists at tertiary referral hospitals in Melbourne and London. During this training she was awarded the Ken Paver and President’s Medals for academic excellence. She later worked for several years at the UK/Europe’s largest Scleroderma and Connective Tissue Disease Centre at the Royal Free Hospital in London. Here, she completed two clinical fellowships, was appointed as one of two subspecialty consultant Dermatologists in the joint Dermatology/Rheumatology service, received a number of research awards, and obtained her PhD. Amanda was also affiliated with the University College London Hospital’s clinical and academic Lupus Unit, and ran her own private Dermatology practice on London’s Harley Street.
Assoc. Prof Saracino is widely published in, and an invited peer reviewer for, many Australian, US, UK and European Dermatology and Rheumatology journals. She speaks at meetings and is asked for her expert opinion in a variety of settings in her sub-specialty field of Connective Tissue Diseases.
Amanda’s key areas of ongoing research are in the molecular genetics of Scleroderma and the assessment and treatment of Lupus related skin rashes. She is also an investigator in numerous clinical trials for new treatments in skin conditions such as eczema, psoriasis and rosacea at Emeritus Research. Amanda thoroughly enjoys combining her clinical and research work, and the benefits this can bring to her patients.
Amanda is available for consultations at Melbourne Dermatology Clinic on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and some Saturdays.

Dr Tasos Stavrakoglou

Dr Tasos Stavrakoglou has more than 20 years of experience in the field of Dermatology.
He is a Consultant Dermatologist at The Alfred Hospital and remains actively involved in teaching dermatology trainees and medical students.
Dr Stavrakoglou was trained in dermatology in London and has served for many years as a member of the North West London Multidisciplinary Skin Cancer Network.
He has published multiple articles in peer-reviewed journals.
Apart from all aspects of general dermatology, Dr Stavrakoglou has particular expertise and interest in:

Dr Helena Lolatgis
Dr Helena Lolatgis is a fellow of the Australasian College of Dermatologists. She undertook her dermatology specialist training in Victoria working at tertiary referral hospitals including The Royal Melbourne Hospital, The Alfred Hospital, Monash Medical Centre, The Austin Hospital and The Skin Health Institute.
During her training, Dr Lolatgis spent 18 months in London, United Kingdom, working in the dermatology units of both St George’s Hospital and St. John’s Institute of Dermatology at Guys and St Thomas’ Hospital.
Prior to commencing dermatology specialty training, Dr Lolatgis completed her Basic Physician Training at The Royal Melbourne Hospital. Dr Lolatgis has published numerous research papers in the Australasian Journal of Dermatology.
Dr Lolatgis is a general dermatologist with a wide area of interest including women’s and paediatric dermatology, acne, rosacea, eczema, psoriasis and skin cancer detection and management. She is passionate about providing personalised and thorough care to all her patients.
